Without insulin, Manuel would die.<\/p><p>Jorge was devastated, \u201cIt was a huge shock, it was like a death. There was chaos, everyone was worried.\u201d<\/p><p>Manuel\u2019s story could have ended there, but Jorge wouldn&#8217;t give up. It was overwhelming.<\/p>\n<p>In Jorge\u2019s words: \u201cWe had some hard times back then. The hardest thing was learning everything we needed to do to keep Manuel alive. I failed many times.
